But what kind of world do we hope to build? What future for our great grandchildren? Is our education reflective of our values or is it of the values we hope to see in the future?

For now, I will only focus on that aspect of education which validates your training. That is: a certificate of completion, an attestation of training, a diploma… in short, some form of document as a representation of your achievement. I know what you think: “What in a certificate can be reflective of our culture?” The answer is: more than you can imagine!
I am a person through other people. My humanity is tied to yours.

No kid goes to school and tries to achieve good grades because it feels good! No one goes to school to get an education for themselves by themselves. There is always that person, or group of persons (dead or alive) we always have in the back of our mind during those struggles: that father, that mother, that mentor, that friend, that kids to whom we want to say that we can do it, you can be proud of me. So, what about we find a way to include their names in our certificate as a recognition of their participation in that effort? What about we mandate the schools to have a copy of the certificate sent to everyone listed on it? What about we make sure that the certificate is a recognition of the struggle of many through one? what about celebrating our collective effort through a certificate rather than our ego? What about our certificate saying UBUNTU ?
